In 2008, the Eiffel Tower was lit each evening in a spectacular blue to mark
the French tenure of the rotating Presidency of the European Union.

hand-cranked model, amusing kids for nearly a hundred years.

In summer, the roads along the Seine are closed to traffic and opened to
city-bound beach-goers for "Paris Plage".
